New Delhi: Siemens training centre has been built for ‘surgical and medical equipment’

By Ravi Chatterjee, Associated PressThe first phase of construction of the Siemens Medical and Training Institute at Gurgaon, about 90 km south of Delhi, is set to start on Monday, said officials.

The facility, which will be operational by 2020, is aimed at training healthcare professionals in the use of surgical and medical devices, the officials said.

A team of about 400 personnel is expected to arrive at the facility by the end of next month.

Siemens has been trying to attract medical and technical talent in India since 2013.

Earlier this year, the company announced plans to hire 1,000 employees from abroad for its medical and training centre.

The project will be the first of its kind in the world.
