‘I was in a coma’: Indian man ‘lost his life after a fatal crash with a motorcycle’

A man who was cycling across a bridge in Maharashtra on Friday night was “in a coma” and has died, police said.

Mohan Shukla, 24, died after he lost control of his motorcycle, the police said in a statement.

“He lost his life as he was attempting to cross the bridge,” said the statement from police in Pune, where he was a resident of Nagpur, about 300km (185 miles) north of Mumbai.

Maharashtra police officer Sunil Kumar Sharma said the accident happened as Shuklela was riding a motorcycle.

“We have registered a case of vehicular homicide and will soon take action against the rider,” Sharma said.

He said police were looking into the death of Shuklak.

Police said the injured man was on a motorcycle and had not been identified.
