Peak training institute trainer John Camm says it takes a lot of hard work to make sure you don’t get bored with the training.
He’s a certified certified aeronautical trainer who uses a variety of aerobics techniques and other physical exercises to train people with disabilities to take their own breath.
Camm said his main goal is to make the most of his patients’ ability to move, breathe and think independently.
“There’s a lot more things that they do than they do with people who have disabilities,” Camm said.
“They don’t have as much mobility as people who do have disabilities, they don’t do as many different things that a normal person would do.”
In fact, Camm, who trains people with autism and other intellectual disabilities, said his training methods aren’t even the best for them.
Instead, Campos recommends using an exercise that mimics what a person might do with a physical disability.
If you dont have that type of mobility, he said, you need to do some things differently, including going in a different direction or using a different posture.
“The way we train people, they can do these exercises and its like they are getting back to where they were,” Campo said.
The way Camm does it is by teaching them to balance on a chair and then to do things with their hands like sit and pick up something or walk.
“While Camposi and his team have trained more than 1,000 people with intellectual disabilities since 2005, they are only trained on the most basic exercises, like walking, sitting and standing.
Camm’s goal is for his students to go into a complete physical transformation.
Aerobics instructor, John Campas, uses a series of techniques to help people with physical disabilities balance on chairs, walk, pick up things and do different things.
They learn to do this exercise without leaning on the chairs to balance.
This exercise is not easy for them, Campsoes instructor, Mike Pappas, said.
They have to be able to sit, stand and balance on their own, Pappases said.
Campos said the techniques they use are different from the type of training he used in the military.
Pappas said it’s all about teaching the patient the skills that they need.
When they are comfortable, Papps said, they will go into the next step, which is getting a new chair or even a wheelchair.
But for people who need help with these physical activities, Campingos said it can take years.
For example, he has been training people with cerebral palsy for a long time, so itll take a long period of time to build up their confidence and have them do the things they want to do with their bodies,” Campsos said.
